UK GIB Green Investment Handbook
As explained by the UK GIB, “The Green Investment Handbook provides a consistent and robust means of assessing, monitoring and reporting the green performance of investments.
We take the green performance of our investments as seriously as their financial performance. The Green Investment Handbook has been developed by the UK Green Investment Bank to set out and explain transparently how we quantify and report the environmental benefits – the ‘green impact’– of all our investments.
Divided into three sections – Assess, Monitor and Report – this market-leading suite of principles, policies and methodologies also provides practical tools and best practice processes for use by other mainstream investors looking to achieve both financial and green returns.
The Green Investment Handbook is playing an important role in the improvement and standardisation of green impact assessment. This will be vital in supporting the transition to a low carbon economy as a means of addressing the challenge of climate change.
